Chicago is divided into 77 official community areas. Each one below links to its own page with a boundary map, the mix of homes, ‘L’ stations, parks and City Council wards.

Area numbers are the City of Chicago’s official numbers, from 1 (Rogers Park) to 77 (Edgewater). Sizes are measured from the City’s boundary for each area. “Most common home” is the largest group of parcels in the Cook County Assessor’s 2026 file.
